By day I'm Senior Manager of Commercial Technology and Platforms at Accruent, a Fortive company. I lead a small team that owns the GTM and martech platform layer, basically everything outside Salesforce. The plain-English version: I keep sales and marketing systems running, connected, and not quietly on fire. I've been doing this since 2011, so 15+ years in martech and ops.

How I think about the work
Most of the job is translation. I sit between the technical people who build things and the business people who need them, and getting those two groups to mean the same thing by the same words is half the work. The other half is unglamorous on purpose. The boring, reliable plumbing is what lets the interesting stuff happen, so I spend a lot of time on the parts nobody puts in a demo. Lately I've been poking at AI in ops to sort out what's genuinely useful from what's just noise with good marketing.

Outside work I'm in Poway, California, being a dad and an aspiring gardener. I print things on a Bambu P1S, I'm slowly learning a Sony a6000, I take coffee more seriously than I should, and I'm deep in the Dungeon Crawler Carl books. I also put a fresh battery and a flash mod in an iPod Classic, because apparently I have opinions about music players from 2007.
